Critic reviews

Frenetic, kinetic action meets satisfyingly soapy drama. See it before everyone tries to copy the best bits. Full review

Helen O’Hara
Empire
Jung Byung-gil indulges in all the excesses of South Korean screen violence, punishing his avenging angel played by Kim Ok-vin as much as she does her foes. Full review

Maggie Lee
Variety
It’s hard to enjoy the action when you witness its emotional cost, but once the protagonist starts slashing goons from atop motorcycles, it’s equally impossible to root for the violence to stop. Full review

Teo Bugbee
The NYTimes
Without a clear narrative, the story recedes in the face of the movie’s stylized violence — which is, admittedly, glorious, even brazen. Full review

Alan Zilberman
Washington Post
