WELCOME MESSAGE

Dear Colleagues,

We are pleased to invite you, to participate in the 18th Congress of the European Anthropological Association, which will be held in Ankara, Turkey, on September 3-6, 2012.
This congress will provide a good opportunity to exchange experience in various aspects of biological anthropology, and discuss the most recent and important topics by leading scientists in this exciting field. The congress theme “Human evolution and dispersals” will be an excellent chance to realize the new perspectives, in addition to other subjects including human health, genetics, nutrition and other branches of the humanities.
Ankara is the capital city of Turkey, and the second largest city after Istanbul. The history of Ankara stretches back to the Hatti Civilisation of the Bronze Age, and the city is surrounded with various Phrygian, Roman, Byzantine and Ottoman archaeological sites. Ankara is crowned by the old castle, and hosts Anitkabir, the magnificent mausoleum constructed to commemorate Atatürk.
Social programme -visit to Cappadocia region- will make this event a wonderful experience through a glimps into nature and history.
